Youth News from Pastor Jonathan - November 2011

YOUTH NEWS
Hopefully all of you have managed to stay warm and dry over the last couple of weeks.  It seems as though the weather can only get colder from here on out.  The youth had a great time at our recent fall harvest party.   The corn maze was anything but dry, but we still managed to make it through.  Our champion pumpkin carvers this year are Hanna Allen and Maci Thornton, congratulations ladies.  We do have some things coming up as Thanksgiving and Christmas speedily approach, they are as follows:

November 13: 12:00pm – All church Thanksgiving Dinner/ Youth Bake Sale.  If you have not made connections with Blair or myself about making a dessert and you would like to, please contact either one of us.
Also, on November 13th @ 5PM - Combined youth gathering with Brookville Church of God @ Brookville.  We will meet here in Clarion and drive over to the Brookville COG to have some fun and fellowship with their youth group.
November 18-19-20 – Thirst State Youth Convention @ Bayfront Convention Center in Erie.  We will leave the church around 4:00 on the 18th and return around 2:00 on the 20th.
November 24: Thanksgiving
December 2-3: Live Nativity
December 18: Youth Christmas Party @ the Church
We have had a blessed year as a youth group.  I am continually thankful for each and every one who comes and participates in our meetings and get togethers.  I would encourage each of you to pray for opportunities to share the gospel message as we approach the holiday season.  This is the time of year when many families struggle the most; whether it be the loss of a loved one, a family break-up, finances, or a number of other things.  People need to know that there is someone who loves them more than they could ever imagine, and it is our responsibility to share that with them.  Please remember to thank God for the blessings he has bestowed upon you in your everyday lives.  God is good!

Our hope is that we would experience revival in this community, & we invite you to come & be a part if it.  Revival is defined as an evangelistic service or a series of services for the purpose of effecting a religious awakening.
Brother Bill was born March 16, 1938 in Greece & raised in a family of 6.  At the age if 15, he came to know the Lord through reading of the New Testament.  At age 17, he felt the call to ministry & witnessed the salvation of most of his family.  While in Greece, he served as Youth Leader, helped publish the Gospel Trumpet in Greek, & as a minister of visitation.

Military Mission Update!!!  Congratulations LSCofG - we have sent packages to 10 people identified by you & your friends,  We have received thank you's & appreciation for the items, pictures drawn, snacks, writing items, etc., but especially for the bible included & the prayers!  A huge thank you to all who have donated, prayed, & provided funding for shipping costs.  Only God will know the impact we have had in what we imagine to be a very small way.
Here is a recent thank you:
"I just wanted to thank you so much for sending me a care package.  I appreciated everything so much especially the bible.  I've read from it almost every night before bed & every morning when I wake up.  It's really meant a lot to me & helped my time to go by quicker... thanks you for the picture (drawn by Maya & Jenna)... Her picture has been on my wall the entire time!!  Sorry for the delay in sending this card - it's hard to find free time after working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week.  But, thank you again.  God bless you * LSCofG!  Love, Sarah."
