Pastor's Message - June 2013

Dear Church Family,

Back on the end of March during our Resurrection Sunday Service I issued a challenge to us all. By Easter of 2014 we would each try to win one person to the Lord. I want to start focusing on that     challenge and to encourage us to be praying for a person we know that is unchurched and would    potentially be someone we could witness to and lead to Christ.

At our “Bring a Friend” Saturday night service a few weeks ago we had several new families here and a few families came back the next Saturday. I really believe that God is continuing to work in our midst and that we are seeing the results of being faithful and obedient to Him.

When I think about the early church, a fledgling church, the church of the Early Morning Light, we are reminded scripturally what a time of excitement. (Acts 2:41-47 NIV)  Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. {42} They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. {43} Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. {44} All the believers were together and had everything in common. {45} Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. {46} Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, {47} praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. However, it was not without difficult times and times of persecution. In fact they started right in the midst of the Pagan Roman Empire and they had their work cut out for them. However, they were not without help! The Holy Spirit came upon them in power and they were able to overcome many obstacles to get out the message of the Gospel.         Although, there were many that gave their lives for the message and for their love for Jesus Christ.

We have a great opportunity here in Clarion. Everywhere we look there are lost souls, in every         direction. I believe we are experiencing the power of God and seeing REVIVAL within our                congregation. Have you been revived? I hope so.

Let us keep on striving for winning the lost and sharing the Gospel.
(2 Tim 1:8-10 NIV)  So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, {9} who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, {10} but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
