WHAT DOES THE CAPITAL FUND CAMPAIGN (CFC) MEAN TO THE PROJECT?
Traditionally in the Church of God when we are doing a special project like expanding the ministries of a congregation and building a new facility, like we are doing, we have what is called a Capitol Funds Campaign (CFC). The run for (3) three years and congregants are asked to make a financial commitment over and abouve their tithe to the CFC.
On September 13, 2009 our congregation kicked off a CFC. The money that has been given up to this point, sacrificially, over and about our tithing, is responsible for the purphase of the property for the Trinity Point Church of God, for all the work on the project up to this point including the original drawings and meetings with the architect and the blue prints for building.
The commitments from September 13, 2009, totaled $300,000.00 plus a matching fund that one of our families established. They are willing to match up to $700,000.00. Our commitments, then, for this 3 year campaign is at least $600,000.00 with the possibility of reaching $1,400,000.00, depending on our giving. In other words, for every one dollar you and I put into the CFC, it is really two dollars. This is not only a great blessing, but a challenge also.
Many of you started giving in September of 2009 after our Commitment Sunday and for the remainder of 2009. We received, including our matching fund, $308,876.00 for 2009. For the calendar year 2010, we received $196,595.00. Total giving up to December 31, 2010 is $505,471. PRAISE THE LORD! Your generosity is awesome.
The only way we can move forward with this project and sustain it is with the continuation of a CFC. We have to use our general budget for ministry and general maintenance. Many have been sacrificing to give toward this project to expand the ministries of our congregation and we will need to continue to do that. In fact, the current CFC will end in September of 2012. We will need to start in the summer of 2012 to promote the roll over the CFC so we do not lose any momentum as the current CFC ends and we start into another one for (3) three more years. We will continue to do that until our facility is paid for. Many of us in leadership believe that we will be able to pay off the new facility in (10) years. We believe that God can do anything and the Scripture says, (Eph 3:20-21 NIV) Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, {21} to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
If you would feel God leading you to give sacrificially to this project please do so. You may contribute, along with those who already are participating by using a tithe envelop and mark the category “other” with the amount you are giving specifically to the CFC or you may put in the memo line of a check CFC or Capital Funds.
